China donates medical supplies to Bolivia to help fight against COVID-19

The handover ceremony of Chinese medical supplies was held on May 12 in Bolivia.

Huang Yazhong, Chinese ambassador to Bolivia, Marcelo Navajas, Bolivian minister of health, and Fernando Calderón and Gonzalo Chacón, representatives of the foreign ministry of Bolivia, were present.

Huang mentioned the achievements made by China in fighting COVID-19 and said that China empathizes with Bolivia as it faces the pandemic challenge. The Chinese government and people have actively offered Bolivia medical supplies, demonstrating the traditional friendship between the two peoples. China firmly supports Bolivia’s fight against the virus, stands ready to offer more assistance as its ability allows and is sure Bolivia will defeat the pandemic at an early date.

Navajas thanked the Chinese government for providing assistance and said that the medical supplies donated by China will improve Bolivia’s capability in fighting the pandemic.

Navajas highly spoke China’s achievements and contributions made to the world’s fight against the pandemic, and expressed the willingness to enhance cooperation with China to safeguard the health and safety of the two peoples.

Bolivia appreciates the efforts made by China in protecting the Bolivian students in China during the pandemic and Bolivian health ministry will actively protect the safety of Chinese citizens and enterprises in Bolivia, said Navajas.
