Shandong's largest offshore wind power project launched in Haiyang

Construction started on an offshore wind power project in Haiyang, Shandong province on March 31. It is currently the largest and most expensive project of its kind in the province.

The project, with a total investment of 5.2 billion yuan ($737.6 million), will be completed in 24 months. A total of 58 sets of wind power generators will be built in the sea area, ranging from 29 to 32 kilometers off the coast. The projected is being supported by China Huaneng Group.

Haiyang, located along the coast of the Yellow Sea, boasts a 212-kilometer coastline and a sea area of 1,829 square kilometers, making it highly suitable for the development of wind power.
