Amid further containment of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), China is powering ahead in returning to work and resuming business and production. The following are the latest facts and figures:

— Senior students in 121 high and vocational schools will return to campus on May 6 in Central China's Wuhan city, an official said on May 4.

Eighty-three senior middle schools and 38 secondary vocational schools are the first batch of schools to open for graduates, said Li Tao, deputy secretary-general of the Wuhan municipal government.

These schools have carried out cleaning and preventive disinfection before opening. Health tests are required for all faculty and staff of Grade Three classes in these schools and for students prior to their return.

— Liuliqiao long-distance transport hub, a major inter-provincial bus hub in Beijing, officially resumed operation after being suspended for over three months.

In the first week after April 30, inter-provincial passenger and chartered bus services to and via low-risk areas within 800 km away from Beijing will be resumed. And services to and via all other low-risk destinations are expected to be gradually resumed the next week.

Epidemic prevention measures are strictly implemented at all bus stations, and passengers must wear masks, have their temperatures taken and display their green health codes — which indicate that they are healthy and come from low-risk areas — before boarding.

— As the novel coronavirus epidemic in China becomes more subdued, the country is trying to get tourism back on its feet, with the majority of scenic attractions reopening and a large number of tourists returning to popular sites during the May Day holiday season.

China saw nearly 104 million domestic tourist trips in the first four days of the five-day May Day holiday season which started May 1. And domestic tourism revenue generated during the period totaled 43.23 billion yuan ($6.12 billion), according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
