As the pandemic gradually subsides in China, hotels, restaurants and scenic spots are reopening and several cultural and tourist activities have been held in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province.

The 2020 Qingdao Flower Admiring Festival was launched in Shinan district, Qingdao, Shandong province on April 3, showcasing many types of flowers, including oriental cherries and tulips.

"We're looking to revive the cultural, tourist and catering industries and encourage residents to get out and enjoy the beautiful spring scenery, after the virus outbreak is under control," said Xu Qun, director of Shinan district's bureau of urban management.

Four themed tourist routes were designed and promoted to meet needs of different people. A number of local scenic spots in the district are being promoted, including Badaguan scenic area, Little Qingdao, Xiaoyu Mountain, Daxue Road, and more.

The district’s bureau of culture and tourism recently invited local tour guides and photographers to give a live broadcast online, showcasing picturesque scenery and delicious food in the district. The live broadcast attracted over 150,000 viewers.

In order to boost consumption in vehicle and household appliances, tourism, fitness, sightseeing, catering and culture, a 100-day consumption season event started in the city on March 23.

Forty local commercial and trade enterprises will receive financial support worth more than 5 million yuan ($708,466) in total to help them resume operations, and the local government will include more enterprises in the consumption season, according to Liu Hongming, a senior official at the district's bureau of commerce.
