The Guangzhou Charity Association and a local real estate construction enterprise have jointly donated a batch of medical supplies worth 1 million yuan ($141,303.14) for the prevention of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) to the consulate general of Iran in Guangzhou on April 15 at Tiande Center.

Iran is among the first batch of countries that donated medical supplies in China's fight against the COVID-19 outbreak and the Guangzhou municipal people's government has been devoting efforts to raise donation to support Iran's fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.

The medical supplies, which were packaged in 222 boxes, included more than 20,000 medical protective masks, 2,400 medical protective clothing, 700 non-contact infrared thermometers, as well as 115 medical oxygen generators of 5 liters.

Khalil Shirgholami, consul general of Iran in Guangzhou, received the donations and expressed gratitude to their Chinese friends on behalf of the Iran government and people.

Shirgholami noted that China has offered important assistance to Iran during its fight against the COVID-19 epidemic and he believed that the relationship between the two countries will be deepened after the epidemic.
