Private enterprises contribute to anti-epidemic efforts

To date, private enterprises in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region have donated a total of more than 55.39 million yuan ($7.8 million) for the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic, including 21.24 million yuan in funds and 34.15 million yuan worth of donated materials.

A total of 1,438 enterprises, business associations, and individuals in and outside the region have participated in the donations, including 1,192 business associations and enterprises in Hechi.

Among them, Guangxi Hongtaicheng Group, a construction company in Dahua Yao autonomous county of Hechi, not only donated money and medical supplies, but also manpower and venues. The hospitals and hotels of its subordinates donated more than 600,000 yuan to support the epidemic prevention and control efforts of Dahua and Du’an. The company has selected medical staff and employees to participate in the on-duty prevention and control work, as well as resolutely recommended four outstanding medical workers to support Wuhan, Hubei province.

Hechi government has also shown strong support to private enterprises in the city to thank them for their contributions. The Hechi Federation of Industry and Commerce collected the difficulties and demands of private enterprises during the epidemic prevention and control period through phone calls and WeChat groups to help them solve problems in work resumption, as well as enhance enterprises’ development confidence.
