April 10: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 9, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 42 new cases of confirmed infections (38 imported cases and 4 indigenous cases, 3 in Guangdong province and 1 in Heilongjiang province), 3 new cases of suspected infections (all are imported cases, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Shanghai municipality), and 1 death (in Hubei province). 85 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,823 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 32.

As of 24:00 on April 9, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps had reported 1,141 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 408 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 733 confirmed cases (including 34 in serious condition) and 53 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on April 9, the National Health Commission had received 81,907 reports of confirmed cases and 3,336 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and in all 77,455 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,116 confirmed cases (including 144 in serious condition) and 53 suspected cases. So far, 717,378 people have been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,176 are now under medical observation.

On April 9, Hubei reported no new cases of confirmed infections, no new cases of suspected infections, and 1 death (in Wuhan). 49 patients (all in Wuhan) were released from hospital after being cured.

As of 24:00 on April 9, Hubei had reported 67,803 cases of confirmed infections (including 50,008 in Wuhan) and 3,216 deaths (2,575 in Wuhan). In all, 64,236 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital, including 47,085 in Wuhan. There still remained 351 confirmed cases (including 348 in Wuhan), with 103 in serious condition (including 101 in Wuhan). There were no suspected cases.

On April 9, 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps reported 47 new asymptomatic cases (including 14 imported cases). 40 asymptomatic cases were freed from quarantine (including 15 imported cases) and 14 became confirmed cases (all are imported cases). As of 24:00 on April 9, 1,097 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 349 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on April 9, 1,398 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 973 in Hong Kong (4 had been dead and 293 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 45 in Macao (10 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 380 in Taiwan (5 had been dead and 80 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
