The second Shaanxi medical team assisting Central China's Hubei province returned on April 6, according to officials from the province in northwestern China.

Consisting of 121 team members, it is the medical team sent by Shaanxi province with the longest working time in Hubei, which was initially hit hard by the novel coronavirus epidemic, they said.

After arriving in Hubei’s capital city of Wuhan on Feb 2, the medical team immediately got busy. They took over the west ward of the seventh floor of the west hospital of the Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

During the 65 days of intense work in Wuhan, the team treated 113 patients, of whom 104 were cured and discharged from the hospital.

Since Jan 24, Shaanxi province has successively dispatched 20 groups of 1,204 medics to support Wuhan's epidemic prevention and control.

With the exception of eight medics who remained in Hubei to carry out anti-epidemic tasks, the rest of the 1,204 medics have now returned to Shaanxi.
