Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Limited (GPHL) announced that it will produce 20,000 free gift packages for people from overseas areas that are under quarantine in Guangzhou during a news conference on April 2.

GPHL is a State-owned company located in Guangzhou managing the research and development, manufacturing, and sales of medicine.

Yao Jianghong, director of GPHL’s marketing design department, noted that the package will include items that can be used for the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus, such as thermometers, hand sanitizer, Banlangen granules, an epidemic prevention manual, as well as 10 protective masks.

Since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19), GPHL has donated more than 20 million yuan ($2.82 million) worth of medicine and supplies to areas like Hubei and Guangdong.

"The company has been actively supporting the fight against the epidemic overseas as it is spreading all over the world," said Yao.

The company has exported 300,000 chloroquine phosphate pills to Indonesia and 50,000 to Iran to help overseas countries in their fight against the COVID-19 epidemic. Chloroquine phosphate has been included in the sixth and seventh editions of the treatment and diagnosis plan for COVID-19 published by the National Health Commission.
