Xi'an municipal government held its 19th news conference on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic on March 4.

Xue Linli, deputy director of Xi'an health committee, explained the related work in the city.

As of 8 am on March 4, Xi'an had reported a total of 120 confirmed cases, including 104 cured cases, one death, and 15 under isolation and treatment.

Among the 15 that are still receiving isolated treatment, five are critically ill, three are in a severe condition and others are in a stable condition.

The number of confirmed cases in Xi'an has remained zero for 13 consecutive days, indicating that the previous epidemic prevention and control measures have achieved significant results, officials said.

However, at present, the number of people coming from abroad to Xi'an is increasing.

For those who come to Xi'an from a country with a severe epidemic situation, Xi'an will adopt a method of centralized isolation and medical observation for 14 days.

Xi'an health committee issued a reminder that residents should consciously abide by relevant regulations, such as wearing masks, to ensure the safety and health of themselves and other passengers when traveling by bus or metro.

It is necessary to sit separately on a bus or on the metro and maintain a distance. Also, it is recommended to use non-cash payment methods such as mobile payment sand credit cards.
