On Feb 24, 26 migrant workers from Guangyuan city in Southwest China's Sichuan province arrived in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China’s Shaanxi province, taking special buses booked by Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone (XHTZ), according to XHTZ officials.

It was the first batch of workers recruited by the XHTZ from outside the province. Officials said that after a successful interview, they will quickly join Xi'an BYD Electronics Co to help alleviate the problem of recruiting employees.

"After completing information registration and temperature measurements in strict accordance with the relevant policy requirements, we arranged for the migrant workers to the accommodation provided and conducted nucleic acid testing," said an employee from the human resources and social security bureau.

Until the nucleic acid test results are available, the workers will remain relatively isolated and designated personnel will distribute meals and provide daily necessities for them, he added.

Those who pass the nucleic acid test results will be interviewed by Xi'an BYD Electronics Co, undergo physical examinations and then sign contracts. After three days of induction training, they can be employed.

In addition to actively going out to help companies recruit migrant workers, the XHTZ has also rolled out transport subsidies ranging from 200 yuan ($28.5) to 300 yuan for returning employees.

To boost recruitment, the zone is encouraging village and human resources organizations to recommend labor by providing bonuses of 200-1000 yuan, to help solve the problem of labor shortages in enterprises and ensure the smooth start of their production.
