Guangzhou's e-commerce tops in China from Jan to Feb

The import and export volume of Guangzhou's cross-border electronic commerce through the administrative platform of Guangzhou Customs has amounted to 3.81 billion yuan ($539.24 million) in the first two months of 2020, a year-on-year increase of 13.5 percent, ranking first in China.

Cross-border e-commerce companies in Guangzhou have gained much support from the Guangzhou municipal commerce bureau since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pneumonia in areas spanning labor force, supply chain, funds, and logistics.

Goldjet Logistics has been devoting more than 400 employees every day in departments like clearance, logistics, and warehouses to make sure that medical supplies can be smoothly transported to medical institutions since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.

The company has arranged charted planes to transport 20 batches of goods and more than 10 million masks from Istanbul, Turkey to Guangzhou as most of the international fights had been canceled at that time. A total of more than 10 charted planes were also arranged by the company to send imported supplies back to China in time.

The company has transported 150 batches of medical supplies spanning 120 metric tons in total by Feb 29, including 18 million medical masks and 320,000 protection suits, contributing greatly to local companies resuming of production.
