Hechi invests $18.03m in highway maintenance in 2019

Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region invested a total of 126.6 million yuan ($18.03 million) in highway maintenance in 2019, according to the city's recent 2020 highway working conference.

Last year, the city achieved a good rate of 67.72 percent of its national and provincial trunk highways, which lay a good foundation for its sound and high-quality economic and social development.

The Hechi highway development center, formerly known as the Hechi highway management bureau, is in charge of the maintenance of more than 2,590 kilometers of national and provincial highways within the scope of the city.

The center repaired nearly 1.59 million square meters of roads in 2019, cleaned 103,000 kilometers of roads, and cleared 98,500 cubic meters of landslides, unblocking four national and provincial highways.

A total of 13.76 million yuan was also invested in road construction projects in Hechi in 2019.

In addition, the center investigated and dealt with 241 cases of road violations and 1,867 overrun vehicles, unloading 408,100 metric tons of goods.

As a result, the Hechi highway development center won first prize in comprehensive evaluation among all the highway departments in Guangxi in 2019.
