The beautiful tropical city of Sanya ranked first on two lists issued by China's online travel agency Ctrip on March 5 to evaluate the recovery of hundreds of Chinese tourism attractions.

The tropical city topped the "Hot Destination Desirability Index" and the "Desirable Hot Coastal Destination" list, according to Ctrip's report on March 5.

The report was based on a data platform, which integrates comprehensive recovery data of the tourism industry before and after global public health security events in recent years, the growth of the tourism industry from 2019 to 2020, epidemic forecasts, as well as users' searches, browsing, ordering, and other data.

Based on the comprehensive tourism data of before and during the epidemic, as well as comparing the difference with the corresponding algorithm, we can determine that the destination recovery index's key node is 50 points, according to Sun Bo, chief marketing officer of Ctrip.

The report unveiled that 40 Chinese tourism destinations had a recovery index scoring over 50 points, said Sun.

With 68 points, Sanya took the lead, followed by Chengdu, Guizhou, Shanghai, Xi'an, Beijing, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, and Kaifeng.
