Jihongtan subdistrict helps businesses resume production

Jihongtan subdistrict office in Chengyang district, Qingdao has taken measures to help local enterprises resume production while continuing to fight against the novel coronavirus pneumonia.

Home to Qingdao's robust rail transit industry, Jihongtan has taken strict control measures before resuming production, including disinfecting work areas, requiring facial masks, taking temperatures of employees, and providing staff meals.

Jihongtan has also established a grid service management system to assist local enterprises in resuming operations and resolve issues such labor shortages, logistical problems, and supply shortages, especially in regard to epidemic prevention and control supplies.

"Some of our workers from other regions needed to be put quarantine for two weeks but we don't have dormitories," said Sun Huiying, a senior staff from Qingdao Qianyun High-tech New Materials Co.

"The Jihongtan subdistrict office offered living subsidies to our workers from other regions so that they could get through the quarantine."

"We have taken measures to solve problems faced by local enterprises during this challenging period and have ensured they can resume operations smoothly," said a staff member at the Jihongtan subdistrict office.

Jihongtan has also launched a number of preferential policies and offered free legal aid services to local enterprises.

As of Feb 25, 865 of 924 industrial enterprises in the region had resumed work, a rate of 93.6 percent. All 145 industrial enterprises above designated scale have resumed work.
