Baotou city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region sent its third medical team to Central China's Hubei province to fight the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak on Feb 16, according to a report in the Baotou Daily.

The medical team consisted of 11 doctors and 24 nurses from Baotou Mongolian Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Baotou Cancer Hospital and Baotou No 8 Hospital.

The staff mainly work in the hospitals' departments of respiratory medicine and also in respiratory intensive care, critical care medicine, cardiology, neurosurgery and gastroenterology. The 35 team members are all front-line clinical medical workers.

According to the team leaders, the team members were selected by the Baotou health commission and hospitals in Baotou city. Training sessions on the coronavirus have been conducted many times, so everyone is fully prepared for the task.

In addition, taking into account the needs of the epidemic prevention and treatment, a certain amount of medical supplies were brought by the medical team to ensure that the team members can immediately join the local medical treatment after arriving in Hubei.
