A total of 30 tons of sanitizer will be distributed to citizens free of charge by the 759 retail drugstores throughout the city in Baotou in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a Feb 13 report in the Baotou Evening News.

Officials said that in response to the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, the market supervision bureau of Baotou has been making efforts in ensuring the supply of sanitizers.

Baotou Haipingmian Polymer Industry Co stepped up the preparation and production of the second batch of 30 tons of six percent sodium hypochlorite disinfectant.

According to company officials, in order to let residents have the disinfectants as soon as possible, more than 20 employees took part in the packaging process.

The batch of products passed the inspection of Baotou's Product Quality Measurement Testing Institute and met its quality standards, officials said.

During the production preparation process, a team of technical experts stationed by inspection and testing organizations in the city effectively controlled key points of the production process.

So far, Baotou city's market supervision bureau has donated a total of 46.33 tons of 75 percent ethyl alcohol and disinfectant for epidemic prevention and control.

The supplies have been delivered to front-line key units and departments for epidemic prevention and control, including drugstores, farmers' markets and airports and railway stations in the city.

In addition, Baotou Haipingmian Polymer Industry Co will continue to produce disinfectants. If necessary, relevant units can come to collect them free of charge with documentation, such as a letter of introduction.
