Chartered buses carrying about 189 migrant workers set off from Linyi in East China's Shandong province to travel to Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Feb 17, according to local media reports.

The convey set off amid the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak, in a bid to help return the employees to their workplaces in a timely and safe manner.

The bus trip was part of arrangements being made in order to ensure stable and orderly coal production in Ordos and relieve the shortage of coal resources in the autonomous region and surrounding provinces.

Officials said Linyi Shandong Energy Mining Group Co Ltd cooperated with the local transportation group to carry the first batch of employees to resume work at mining area in Ordos.

According to the local authorities in Ordos, each employee filled in his or her personal information card and took their seats with the card number.

Before departure, the medical staff measured the body temperatures of each employee and filled in their health certificate card to ensure the health and safety of all returning personnel.

After arriving in Ordos, all the workers will be quarantined as soon as possible to ensure health and safety.

After the expiration of the isolation period, safety technical training will be carried out for the workers to ensure the safe resumption of production.
