From January to December 2019, a total of 200.56 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 29.12 trillion) was traded in the Chinese foreign exchange market.
In December, the Chinese foreign exchange market (excluding foreign currency pairs, the same below) recorded total transaction of 17.10 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 2.44 trillion). Specifically, the transaction volume of the bank to customer market was 2.71 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 387.1 billion), the transaction volume of interbank market was 14.38 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 2.05 trillion), the cumulative transaction volume of the spot market was 6.78 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 966.5billion), and that of the derivatives market was 10.32 trillion yuan (equivalent to USD 1.47 trillion).
