Message to all foreign friends in Suzhou

To cope with the outbreak of pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV), Jiangsu province launched the highest-level (Level I) public health emergency response on January 24, 2020. The CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee and Suzhou Municipal People's Government have attached high importance to and made overall planning on epidemic prevention and control. The Foreign Affairs Office of Suzhou Municipal People's Government hereby sends the following message to all foreign friends in Suzhou.

I. Follow the government social media accounts for the latest updates. Please follow the WeChat account of Suzhou Municipal People's Government by searching "suzhoufabu365 (苏州发布)", the WeChat account of "iSuzhou", or by dialing the public service hotline 12345 to obtain the latest updates of the infectious disease, information of designated hospitals for patients with the novel coronavirus, preventive measures and important notices. If you need further inquiry, please leave your comment on iSuzhou WeChat account or log on www.isuzhou.cn and post your questions on the homepage. If you have any emergency request, feel free to call SFAO hotline: 15051425190.

II. Pay more attention to self-protection. Please keep good personal hygiene habits by washing hands often with soap or alcohol-based sanitizer. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or flexed elbow when coughing or sneezing. No spitting. Please dispose used facemasks to designated garbage bins. Please maintain proper ventilation and keep the room clean. Please avoid contact with wild or farm animals. Please do not eat raw or undercooked eggs, poultry or other animal products.

III. Reduce or avoid outdoor activities. Please avoid crowded places and cancel parties, group dinners and other group activities. Please wear masks correctly, surgical masks preferably, if you have to go and attend one. When such symptoms as fever, cough, difficulty in breathing, or fatigue occur, please wear a surgical mask and seek medical help from designated hospitals.

IV. Be responsible and cooperative. In case of recent visits to affected areas or having direct contact with people from those areas with respiratory symptoms such as fever or cough, please stay at home and monitor your health condition for 14 days, starting from your last day staying in affected areas or having contact with a suspected case. Please support and cooperate with the government, community or medical staff for health information inquiries and collection.
