Poverty alleviation efforts will be boosted in 2020 to lift Luocheng, Du'an, and Dahua counties, as well as 64,000 people out of poverty.

It is also expected that at least two 4G base stations will be established for each impoverished village in the city, and that the collective annual income of each impoverished person will exceed 50,000 yuan ($7,202).

The five industries of cocoon silk, nonferrous metals, wine, drinking water, and calcium carbonate will be developed in 2020 to create more jobs for Hechi residents.

In addition, it is expected that the total output value of the five municipal-level industrial parks will reach 28 billion yuan by the end of 2020. Ten projects, each of which has an investment of more than 50 million yuan, will be introduced to the city.

The Hezhou-Bama and the Rongshui-Hechi expressways will be open to traffic in 2020. Construction of the Hechi section of the Guiyang-Nanning High-speed Railway will also be advanced and finish the investment of 3.5 billion yuan.

The first-class highway connecting Jinchengjiang and Yizhou districts will be renovated to promote the integration of the two places.

Several pig breeding enterprises will be introduced to Hechi to reduce the price of pork and make it more affordable for people. It is expected that the annual pig slaughter will surpass 1.5 million.

Rearing of beef cattle will also be promoted in Hechi in 2020, with an annual cattle slaughter of more than 190,000.

In 2020, Hechi will renovate 1,700 houses in shanty areas to meet the housing demands of people in need.

In addition, Hechi will continue to strengthen its efforts to prevent and control air pollution, aiming to have a good air quality rate in Jinchengjiang district of 98 percent by the end of 2020.

As China's first "World Longevity City," Hechi has competitive advantages in cultural tourism and health. In 2020, the city will boost the construction of the tourist resort for health in Bama, as well as three other resort areas along the Hongshui River.
