Unicloud.com is an important part of Tsinghua Unigroup's "core cloud strategy", which is a key strategic deployment by the group requiring investment of 12 billion yuan ($1.71 billion). The group intends to enter the public cloud market and improve the strategic layout of the group cloud network. In January 2019, the headquarters of Unicloud.com settled in Tianjin Binhai. In the future, Unicloud.com will base itself in Tianjin with the goal of becoming one of the public cloud service providers with industrial advantages in China and the most trusted digital partner contributing to the construction of "Digital China".
Unicloud.com focuses on the field of cloud computing and providing data services to both government and enterprise clients. It considers the cloud platform as support, the operation service as the engine and ecological development as the leading edge in creating a cloud of "core-cloud integration, credit security, scene-driven, and hybrid delivery". It will further promote industrial transformation and upgrading and be devoted to becoming China's most reliable data operation partner and cloud service provider with the greatest industrial advantages.
In terms of node design, Unicloud.com adopts "core-edge two-level architecture". It is divided into regional backbone nodes and city nodes. The former can support businesses for national users while the latter can meet application scenarios for local users. The full-stack cloud service and distributed architecture can fully integrate local industrial planning, import corresponding industrial resources, and promote integrated development of industries and cities.
Taking "one hundred cities and one hundred industries" as its business objective, Unicloud.com focuses on civic and industrial cloud applications in a bid to provide "full-stack service" from IaaS, PaaS to SaaS for enterprise-level users. At present, both cloud applications are available in more than 20 provinces and cities across the country.
