Hohhot to develop smart logistics big data platform

The Baita Airport Logistics Park in Hohhot will actively develop an integrated logistics information management platform -- to create a modern big data smart logistics park and regional logistics center, according to a Nov 14 report in the Hohhot Daily newspaper.

According to officials at the logistics park, through the construction of the Inner Mongolia Smart Logistics Big Data Platform, the park accomplishes a great deal in terms of high-tech activities.

They said it uses big data, cloud computing, the internet of things, mobile Internet and other new technologies. These are utilized to establish an open, transparent and shared logistics information platform for logistics companies, e-commerce companies, trading companies, third-party logistics service providers and supply chain service providers.

Officials said the result is an overall boost to the efficiency of overall logistics operations. Logistics costs are also reduced and the integration of existing logistics resources is optimized.

Officials said that by building the smart logistics big data center, it will reduce the cost of various industries such as manufacturing and logistics, as well as improve corporate profits.

Also, it will realize the intensive multi-functional and efficient development of warehousing, transportation, distribution and information services -- and optimize the allocation of social logistics resources.
