Zheng Renhao, Party secretary of Zhanjiang, met with Ishizuka Hideki, Japanese consul general in Guangzhou, on Dec 10 to exchange views on strengthening cooperation in the fields of logistics, industry, culture, and education.

Zheng stressed that Zhanjiang currently boasts enormous market opportunities as the city is concentrating on the development of port-based modern industries, promoting the development of agriculture, marine fishery, and coastal tourism, as well as participating in the construction of the New Land-Sea Trade Corridor in West China.

Zheng expressed his hope that more Japanese entrepreneurs can investigate opportunities in Zhanjiang to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two sides.

Ishizuka thanked Zhanjiang for supporting Japanese companies' investment and development in the city. He said that Zhanjiang has a unique geographical advantage and has also greatly improved its economic and social development in recent years. The consulate general in Guangzhou will play an intermediary role to actively build a cooperation platform, expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Zhanjiang in various fields, encourage more Japanese companies to invest in Zhanjiang, as well as further promote industrial cooperation and economic development of the two sides.
