Taiyuan Laoshuku Sweet Dumpling, originally called the Hengyicheng Sweet Food Shop, is an important site on Laoshuku Alley in Zhonglou Street.

The shop dates back to about 100 years ago and its recipes and methods have been passed from generation to generation. Fillings of the sweet dumplings are mainly flavored with sesame, fragrans, rose and peanut.

The shop carefully chooses its raw materials and only uses glutinous rice from Huata village and its surroundings. It grinds the rice by stone mill and half-open flowers are picked to make fillings. The sweet dumplings are listed as an intangible cultural heritage item in Shanxi.
