3rd Sports Meet to begin in Hohhot

The 3rd Sports Meet is scheduled to be held in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 12.

The meet, organized by the Hohhot government and the local sports department, is expected to become the largest sports meet in the region.

Local media have predicted that the event will attract over 6,700 athletes and coaches and 150,000 spectators.

According to organizers, it will feature 17 sports, including bicycle racing, football, martial arts, and basketball.

The mascots for the event, Jian Jian and Kang Kang, which take on the appearance of two white horses, were unveiled on Sept 18.
