The 11th Liaoning International Agriculture Expo -- also the 19th Shenyang International Agriculture Expo -- concluded at Shenyang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Sept 23.

Intended agreements worth 2.05 billion yuan ($288.05 million) was signed during the four-day event, which kicked off on Sept 20.

The expo attracted the participation of nearly 2,500 companies showcasing nearly 10,000 categories of products. Exhibits from more than 30 countries -- including Australia, France, and Italy -- also took part in the expo.

Hosted by the Liaoning Provincial People’s Government and organized by the Shenyang municipal people’s government and the Liaoning Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the expo was themed around “Environment, Health, Innovation and Development.”

It showcased seafood products, wine, fruit, mushrooms, food processing machinery, cold chain equipment and more.

The event was held to promote agricultural products to domestic and overseas markets and deepen agricultural cooperation with other countries and regions.

Another aim was to help speed up the application of new technologies such as the internet of things and 5G in agricultural e-commerce, rural tourism, agricultural information services and other areas.
