Shenzhen Bay Control Point records 23.64m exit-entry passengers in H1

According to statistics from the Shenzhen Bay Control Point, about 23.64 million inbound and outbound passengers passed through the checkpoint in the first half of the year, with the daily average amounting to 130,600.

There were nearly 290,000 foreign tourists that passed the checkpoint in the first quarter of the year, while more than 310,000 ones passed in the second quarter, an increase of 7 percent.

The passenger flow volume on Jan 19 reached a record high of 193,000, while the number of vehicles cleared on Jan 25 was 17,400, a record high.

Shenzhen Bay, which is adjacent to Hong Kong International Airport and boasts convenient transportation, has become the first choice for passengers in the Pearl River Delta region to visit Hong Kong or transfer to other countries from Hong Kong's airport.

In addition, the implementation of the development outline for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area also promotes the Shenzhen Bay Control Point, which is located in a key position in the area, to be an important channel for people from all over the world to and from China.

The control point also takes on the task of maintaining border security. In the first half of the year, the number of criminals uncovered by the checkpoint was about 600.
