University of Electronic Science and Technology of China

Located in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan province, the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China was set up in 1956 and has developed into a prestigious university among China's 211 and 985 key university national projects.

Themed on electronic information science and technology, the university is a multidisciplinary research university covering the whole discipline of electronics along with science, engineering, management, liberal arts and medicine.

The university has three campuses – Qingshuihe, Shahe and Jiulidi – with their total area occupying over 273 hectares. The university has a beautiful environment with vasts area of green land. It has a modern digital library with large collections and a batch of modern sports venues fully equipped with advanced facilities.

The university has established 23 departments and 63 undergraduate programs, 14 of which are listed among national construction units for distinctive programs.

It has more than 33,000 students and over 13,000 of them are doctoral or master’s students. The student employment rate of the university has been maintained at above 96 percent.

The university has more than 3,800 staff members and over 600 of those are professors. Four of the staff members are academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering and 37 are members of the Yangtze River Scholar Program.

In recent years, the university has devoted great efforts in carrying out international communication and cooperation. It has formed relationships with over 200 universities, research institutes or companies from more than 70 countries and regions, such as Intel, Microsoft, IBM, the College of William & Mary in Virginia, Pohang University of Science and Technology in South Korea, University of Glasgow and Missouri’s Webster University.
