Zhanjiang and Zhuhai launch first city-level cooperation project

The signing and opening ceremony of Zhanjiang Innovation Industry New Town, the first city-level cooperation project between Zhanjiang and Zhuhai, was held in Haidong New Area on July 16, marking a new stage of cooperation between these two cities in South China's Guangdong province.

Zhanjiang Innovation Industry New Town is jointly built by Zhuhai Huafa Group and Zhanjiang Communication Investment Group. It covers an area of 625,000 square meters and has a total investment of nearly 16 billion yuan ($2.33 billion), including a headquarters base, an industrial incubation base, a commercial complex, and an administrative service center. It will become the largest urban complex in Haidong New Area and will be of great significance for Zhanjiang.

Zheng Renhao, Party secretary of Zhanjiang, expressed congratulations on the official launch of the project, noting that the project is a concrete action to build a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Guangdong coastal economic belt, as well as meeting the development needs of Zhanjiang and Zhuhai.

Zhuhai Deputy Mayor Yan Wu attended the opening ceremony and expressed his expectation on the cooperation between the two companies and the two cities.

Li Guangning, general manager of Zhuhai Huafa Group, said he was very optimistic about the future of Zhanjiang. He said that Huafa Group will take Zhanjiang Innovation Industry New Town as the starting point to seek more cooperation opportunities in Zhanjiang, as well as to help Zhanjiang's economic and social development.
