Southwest University of Finance and Economics, first established in 1925 and one of the national key universities of projects 211 and 985, was listed among the first group of national double first-class universities in 2017.
Located in Chengdu, a famous historic and cultural city in Sichuan province, the school has two campuses – Guanghua campus and Liulin campus – covering 153 hectares.
The university has 27 colleges and 35 undergraduate majors, including eight national characteristic majors. It has over 14,700 full-time undergraduates, more than 5,700 postgraduates and over 740 doctoral candidates.
The school has become an important base for the cultivation of talents in areas such as finance, economics and management. Known as a "financial talent pool in China", the university has cultivated many leaders in the financial industry. The students’ overall employment rate remains above 95 percent, and the rate of undergraduate students seeking further study remains at about 40 percent.
The university currently has 2,039 staff members, over 1,300 full-time teachers, including over 300 professors, more than 530 associate professors and over 310 doctoral supervisors.
In recent years, the university has been deepening international communication and cooperation. The university has established a cooperation relationship with nearly 200 famous universities, scientific institutions and enterprises from over 40 countries and regions.
