Anshun in Southwest China's Guizhou province, which is also known as the hometown of waterfalls, held a promotion fair to introduce its featured agriculture products in Qingdao, Shandong province on July 4.

Agricultural specialties, such as tea, chives, edible mushrooms, and thorny fruits, were favored by Qingdao's businessmen, which led to the signing of nine investment projects worth 15.22 billion yuan ($221.35 million), as well as eight production and marketing projects.

In addition, Anshun presented 133 projects involving key industries with preferable benefits for Qingdao's reference. The agreements reached during the fair involved the production and marketing of tea, breading, processing of characteristic food and agricultural products, planting of traditional Chinese medicines, as well as the integration of agriculture and tourism.

As Anshun's partner city, Qingdao has helped to alleviate poverty in Anshun for 23 years. Currently Anshun has seen rapid development in rural areas, especially in terms of increased value in agriculture and the per capita disposable income of rural residents.

Anshun's agricultural products are known for their high-quality and green features, among which 21 have been recognized as China Protected Geographical Indication Products.

The fair is expected to promote deep cooperation between Anshun and Qingdao, which will open up markets for Anshun's agricultural products in Qingdao, as well as further the cooperation in poverty alleviation efforts between east and west China.
