1,000 communities in Shenyang to offer garbage sorting bins

A man introduces the uses and functions of an intelligent garbage sorting bin in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on July 9. The bins can automatically classify different types of garbage, including metals, plastics, paper, glasses, and harmful waste, and then offer points to residents according to the type and weight of garbage inserted. Residents can redeem the points for rewards. Up to now, 112 communities and public organizations in Shenyang have put these bins into use, and by the end of this year, 1,000 communities in the city are expected to offer such service, to help protect the environment.
