Hangzhou shines at intl garden expo

Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, displayed some of the world's finest gardening techniques at the 12th China (Nanning) International Garden Expo, which concluded on June 28.

The Hangzhou Garden, covering an area of 4,100 square meters, features a combination of traditional architecture from regions south of the Yangtze River and digital technology.

It was well-received by experts and for the first time in its history took home every prize at the expo, including Best Exhibition Garden, Best Design Garden, Best Landscape Planting and Best Innovative Project.

Equipped with a sound system and night lighting, the Hangzhou Garden provided visitors a feast for the senses.

"The Hangzhou exhibition garden added some beautiful scenery to the Nanning Expo," said an expert.

The exhibition not only cultivated a group of talents to work for the Hangzhou Garden, but also showcased Hangzhou's expertise in gardening and landscape architecture to the world, raising the city's profile in the industry, according to an official of the garden.

Over the course of six months, the event attracted the participation of 44 Chinese cities as well as 19 cities from members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
