A Qingdao Airlines flight from Wenzhou, Zhejiang province touched down in Xining, capital of Qinghai province, on July 2. With a stopover in Nanyang, the flight marked the successful start of two new routes from the city.
The flights to Wenzhou and Xining, which are operated by Qingdao airlines, are scheduled on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The new routes will increase the number of flights from Nanyang to Northwest China and East China and thus offer more choices of transport for people.
They are also expected to allow passengers to enjoy the beautiful scenery in eastern China with the natural wonders in western part of the country.
The Nanyang airport currently has air routes to 23 cities in summer and autumn, averaging nearly 1,000 flights per month, with an average monthly passenger throughput of 92,000.
