Baotou, the biggest city in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has added a new bike sharing service -- with the bright turquoise-colored Didi bikes making their debut there recently -- according to local media.

The Didi Bike service, developed by leading domestic mobile transportation platform Didi Chuxing, is one of the most popular bike sharing services in China.

It is the third bike sharing service that has been introduced in the city following Ofo which came to the metropolis in September 2017, and Hellobike which followed in 2018.

The Didi bikes can be accessed by scanning the QR code on each bike using Wechat or the Didi Chuxing app. The bike is then unlocked using Bluetooth technology.

The bikes are equipped with a GPS tracking service to track routes and calculate fees.

The starting price is 1 yuan ($0.15) for up to 30 minutes, and an excess above that will be charged according to the pricing rules that calculate rental fees and service charges.
