Development Priorities
Grain and Oil Processing:
Binhai New Area will expand the types of raw materials for oil processing, encourage the development of palm oil and olive oil products based on the processing of soybean oil, and appropriately develop other small varieties of oils such as rapeseed oil. Binhai New Area will extend the grain and oil processing industrial chain and improve the comprehensive utilization of products to form the whole industry chain mode including refined oil, small packages of oil, specialty oil and fat, oil and chemical processing as well as waste and byproducts comprehensive utilization.
Food and Beverage:
Binhai New Area should continue introducing large projects and good projects in the traditional food and beverage industry. Binhai New Area should focus on the development of deep processing of agricultural and sideline products, green food, food bioengineering and wine making. Binhai New Area should build a bio-food industry base of the largest economic scale in North China.
Textile:
Binhai New Area should focus on the development of industrial fabrics (including composite materials), high-performance fiber materials, high-performance textile composites and high-performance resin composites. Binhai New Area should promote the development of the apparel industry with branding and make efforts to build China’s homegrown brands, develop distinctive products, and enhance the design level and added value.
Packaging:
Binhai New Area should pay special attention to the development of commercial printing, environmentally friendly paper cutlery, paper stationery, and corrugated boxes with assorted functions. Binhai New Area should focus on the development of ceramics, biological fibers, chemical fibers, composite materials and other new packaging materials. Binhai New Area should actively promote the research and development, manufacturing and industrialization of digital and intelligent packaging and printing machinery.
Daily Chemical:
Binhai New Area should focus on the development of engineering coatings, washing supplies, biological agents, plants, bioactive extracts, natural plant additives and other new raw materials.
Plastics:
Relying on the rapid development of the oil and marine chemical raw materials industry chain in Binhai New Area, the industry should vigorously develop agricultural plastics, plastic packaging, medical plastics, fluoroplastics, and actively introduce engineering plastics, wood-plastic composites, waste plastics recycling and other industries.
Development Goals
Binhai New Area should build the largest grain and oil processing industrial base in China as well as a new type of light textile economic park with a strong influence and competitiveness both at home and abroad. By 2020, the output value is expected to reach 300 billion yuan, accounting for about 7 percent of the total industrial output in Binhai New Area. Among them, the output value of food, grain and oil will reach 200 billion yuan and the average land output will reach 7 billion yuan per square kilometer. The output value of the textile industry will reach 70 billion yuan and the average land output will reach 7 billion yuan per square kilometer.
