Ordos establishes advisory body for ecology

The founding of the Ordos Association for Ecological Civilization Promotion was announced at the first assembly of the organization in Kangbashi district, in Ordos, on May 28. 

Officials said the association will function as an advisory body for ecological conservation. 

Li Hailin, deputy director of the Department of Cooperation and Development at the China Association for Ecological Civilization Research and Promotion; Fu Taizeng, president of the Inner Mongolia Association for Ecological Civilization Promotion, and Niu Junyan, Party secretary of Ordos, unveiled the name plaque of the organization at the assembly. 

The association will offer suggestions and solutions on green development and contribute to the high-quality development of the city, said Li Wenzhong, deputy mayor of Ordos, in a speech to the assembly. 

The members of the first council for the organization were elected at the assembly.
