Quzhou brand wins most dynamic time-honored award

Quzhou-based Zhejiang Yuanzhuang Food Co won the award for most dynamic time-honored brand at the 11th Central China Investment and Trade Expo, local media reported.

Qi Jinsong, founder of Yuanzhuang, has been preparing food since 1990, when he visited local food producers and began to make innovations to traditional cakes and pastries.

In 2011, his brand Yuanzhuang was identified by the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province as a time-honored brand.

In 2012, the skill of making Yuanzhuang's swelled candy rice was listed by the provincial government as an intangible cultural heritage. Qi, naturally, became the representative inheritor of the provincial heritage.

The creative package design for puff pastries by Qi has received many tourism product design prizes in China. He named the product "Siku Quansu", which is homophonous with the Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature, the largest collection of books in Chinese history.
