The 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair was held in Shenzhen, Guangdong province from May 16 to 20. Six cultural enterprises from Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, grabbed the attention of visitors with nearly 100 distinctive local creative cultural products, including antique wooden ships and fisherman's paintings.
The companies struck deals worth nearly 100,000 yuan ($14,500) at the fair, up 10.26 percent year on year.
Zhu Guoxian, director of the publicity department of Zhejiang, praised Zhoushan's cultural industrial development while visiting the company booths. He expressed hope that they will continue to create quality products by combining local marine culture with modern designs.
Cen Guo, a craftsman of traditional wooden ships, spoke about the popularity of the ships, saying that traders from Guangdong province and Taiwan have already contacted him to buy some. Jigsaw puzzles based on ship models were also welcomed by young people and children.
The Zhejiang Zhoushan Tourism Group and the Putuo International Film Innovation Industrial Park attended the fair for the first time to showcase the achievements that Zhoushan has made in integrating culture and tourism and developing the movie industry.
"More than 20 filmmakers have come to discuss filming in Zhoushan at the fair. That’s a great sign for our movie industry," said Lin Yan from the Putuo International Film Innovation Industrial Park.
