A special tourist bus route linking major scenic spots throughout Nantong was launched in the coastal city in East China’s Jiangsu province on May 19.

The No 88 bus will set off from Yongxing Bus Station in Gangzha district at 5:30 every morning and travel to the Langshan Mountain scenic area in Chongchuan district.

A total of nine buses equipped with air conditioners will operate on the route, running a total of 100 shifts each day. The last bus will leave Langshan Mountain at 19:30.

The route will consist of 33 stops and cover a number of tourist attractions throughout the city, including the Haohe River scenic area, Nantong TV Tower, Binjiang Park, and the Five Mountains scenic area.

The route, which costs 2 yuan (30 cents) per person, is designed to cater to tourists and relieve traffic pressure around scenic areas.

Items such as band-aids, disposable raincoats, notepaper, and travel guides are also available on the buses.

“We will continue with efforts to improve our services and help raise Nantong’s profile among tourists,” said Ding Zhigang, executive deputy general manager of Nantong Public Transport Co.
