Dinghai district in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province recently launched a plan for introducing leading technological innovative and entrepreneurial talents or teams to boost local industrial development.
The selected talents or teams will each receive funds of 200,000 yuan ($29,000) to 30 million yuan based on their level of excellence. Those who grow into provincial, national or international level talents in the future will also be granted with extra awards of 500,000 to 2 million yuan.
Business offices, financial services and preferential policies will be available for these talents to carry out their entrepreneurial activities.
In addition, local authorities will establish a working mechanism for talent cultivation, strengthen management and optimize services for talents.
The district aims to introduce and cultivate 10 leading talents at the provincial level or above in such key areas as smart manufacturing, electronic information, and new materials by the end of 2020, as well as 45 innovative and entrepreneurial talents or teams.
It will also develop eight leading technology companies with strong innovative capacity and core independent intellectual property rights, and build an influential industrial park for innovative and entrepreneurial talents to turn itself into a highland of marine economic innovation.
