Suixi lion dance troupe to perform at Asian Culture and Tourism Exhibition

A lion dance group from Suixi county, Zhanjiang left for Beijing on May 15 to perform shows at the 2019 Asian Culture and Tourism Exhibition, a key part of the ongoing Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations.

The troupe, which consist of 18 members, took a specially made "lion" with them, with which they will stage several performances during the international event, according to Li Rongzai, head of the Suixi Longwan Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe.

With the theme of "Exchanges and Mutual Learning Among Asian Civilizations and A Community with A Shared Future", the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations aims to deepen cooperation among Asian countries. The 2019 Asian Culture and Tourism Exhibition will be held from May 16 to 18, displaying the development achievements of cultural tourism in China and Asian countries through events such as thematic exhibitions, tourism promotion conferences, and world heritage image exhibitions, as well as releasing the latest development trends of culture and tourism industries in these countries.
