Guizhou strives to cultivate big data companies

As one of the first national big data comprehensive pilot areas in China, Guizhou province is committed to creating a suitable environment for big data development, and has attracted many big data talents to its star businesses, such as Guizhou Business Big Data Technology Co (BBD).

Established in 2013, BBD headquarters in Chengdu, Sichuan province and attended the first Big Data Expo in 2015. During the expo, Liao Haifeng, manager of BBD, was attracted by Guizhou's open environment and brought a team of 30 people to set up Guizhou BBD.

After years of development, Guizhou BBD has 130 employers, 80 percent of which hold master degrees. The company offers credit investigation, finance, index, government, and company services.

Cooperating with Guizhou-Cloud, a State-owned big data company, BBD has helped to build a targeted poverty alleviation big data platform containing the data of 17 government branches at provincial and national levels.

The platform has achieved real time data sharing, and can not only identify poverty-stricken populations precisely, but also supervise poverty alleviation works and assess the effectiveness of poverty alleviation funds.

According to Liao, BBD will release its service platform for technology companies during the 2019 Big Data Expo. The platform adopts machine learning technology to provide financial services, estimate development trends, and offer decision-making support for companies based on government data.
