According to Guiyang customs, Guizhou tea exports to countries along the Belt and Road, such as Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, and Bulgaria, reached 21.27 million yuan ($3.11 million) during the first quarter of this year, a year-on-year growth of 88.3 percent.

In recent years, Guizhou's tea industry has experienced rapid development with the total output value ranking first in China for six years. Tea has become Guizhou's main agricultural export after alcohol and tobacco.

To further expand the overseas market for Guizhou tea, Guiyang customs has taken measures to provide convenience for custom clearance.

The registration procedures for tea companies have been simplified from five steps in 20 days to three steps in 15 days.

Guiyang customs also collects the regulations, standards, and risk warning information of food and agricultural products in Middle and East Europe from official websites to help tea companies lower their cost, restructure, and expand their markets.

By establish risk monitoring and supervision plans for exports, Guiyang customs provides more than 1,000 free tests for exporters every year, and gives instructions on management to improve tea quality.
