The whole project, started in early 2016, is expected to be finished by the end of July and the bridge will be ready for operation at the end of September.
The bridge, connecting Fuchi Island and Zhoushan Island, stretches 2.01 kilometers, 1,493 meters of which are above the sea.
It is the starting section of the Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Main Channel, a grand project to connect five islands in Zhoushan and further connect the city with Ningbo and Shanghai.
The project will not only provide traffic convenience for the development of Zhoushan and its China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, but will also promote the integration of the Yangtze River Delta region.
