Guangzhou Nansha Central Hospital was jointly funded by the Guangzhou municipal people's government and the Nansha district people's government in accordance with the standards of 3A-grade public hospitals. It was fully managed by the Guangzhou First People's Hospital and was successfully opened on July 15, 2008. 

The hospital has 1,000 beds, over 70 senior professional titles, and more than 2,500 daily emergency visits. It has developed regional centers for medical care, difficult diagnosis and treatment, critical care, research and teaching, and health management in the Nansha Free Trade Zone. 

The hospital has established 36 disease diagnosis and treatment centers such as endoscopic diagnosis and treatment of the digestive tract endoscopy, early diagnosis and treatment center, trauma treatment and rehabilitation center, interventional surgery center, encephalopathy clinic and a medical imaging-interventional treatment center.
