A promotional meeting for the aquatic product trade market in Zhoushan National Pelagic Fishery Base was held on April 26 in Dinghai district, Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province.

This is the first promotional meeting to be held since the fishery base began developing the market in February 2017.

Dozens of companies specializing in cold-chain transportation, food processing, e-commerce and new retail attended the meeting, and more than 30 of them signed cooperation agreements with the base, including Yupei Group, a Shanghai-based logistics company with the largest cold-chain network in China, and Beidian, a leading e-commerce platform with a strong supply chain.

By cooperating with these companies, the base hopes to develop an "Internet + Pelagic fishery" business model and expand trade channels for its aquatic products. 

The base's trade market received a 600 million yuan ($89.18 million) line of credit from the Dinghai Ocean Rural Commercial Bank, meaning companies who set up operations in the market can now apply for low-interest loans from the bank. 

Construction on the market, which will cover an area of 45,097 square meters, is projected to be finished by the end of August. It will be developed into a first-class comprehensive aquatic product trade market integrating logistics, e-commerce, cold-chain transportation, financing and insurance services.
