Japanese electronics company to build headquarters in Wuxi

TDK-Lambda, a Japanese electronics company, signed an agreement to build its Chinese headquarters in Wuxi National Hi-tech District on April 19.

A total of 500 million yuan ($74.3 million) will be invested in a new plant of 15,200 square meters, including a research and development center covering over 3,000 square meters.

The new plant is expected to go into operation by the end of 2019 and become TDK's first digital management factory integrating research and development, production, sales and after-sales services globally.

Wuxi Mayor Huang Qin welcomed the Japanese delegation led by TDK Group's Chairman Yashiro Hiroyuki and looked forward to future cooperation between the two sides.

Huang emphasized Wuxi's current focus on the development of high-tech and advanced manufacturing industries. This project matches Wuxi's demand for new technologies such as power systems and clean energy in industrial transformation and upgrading, and will receive full support from the government.

Yashiro Hiroyuki explained that the new company will introduce digital management equipment systems such as intelligent robots and automated warehouses, making it the most advanced technology producer in the group.
