Ansteel Group

Ansteel Group originated from the merger and reorganization of Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation and Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group Co Ltd in May 2010. Anshan Iron and Steel Group Corporation was the first large-scale steel maker of the New China and the country’s earliest steel production base, making great contributions to national economic construction and the development of the steel industry. Known as the “cradle of New China’s iron and steel industry” and the “eldest son of the iron and steel industry of the Republic of China”, Panzhihua Iron and Steel Group is the largest rail and ship plate manufacturer and the largest titanium raw material and titanium dioxide production base in China, and as well as the largest vanadium producer in the world. In 2011, Ansteel Group was listed in the Fortune Global 500.

A a State-owned large-scale enterprise, Ansteel presently has seven production bases in northeast, southwest, north China, southeast and south China, and controls rich iron ore resources in Liaoning and Sichuan in China and Karara in Australia. It has the most resource advantages of any steel enterprise in China.

The group has a complete set of advanced steel production process and equipment from mining, ore dressing, sintering, ironmaking, steelmaking, rolling, coking and refracting to transportation. With a production capacity of 39 million tons of steel, it can produce more than 3,000 steel grades and 60,000 specifications of high-tech and high value-added steel, vanadium and titanium products with good quality. It has a complete series of steel products including hot-rolled and cold-rolled sheet, galvanized sheet, color coated sheet, cold-rolled silicon steel, heavy rail, seamless pipes, wire rods, steel rope products and stainless steel and other products. They are widely used in dozens of industries, such as railways, construction, automobiles, machinery, shipbuilding, home appliances, container manufacturing, petroleum and petrochemicals, and aeronautics and astronautics.

International cooperation

The products of Ansteel are sold to more than 60 countries and regions, with an annually import and export amount of more than 5 billion dollars. It has 26 overseas companies and organizations and more than 500 domestic and international customers and partners. The products are used in major projects both at home and abroad, such as the “West-East National Gas Transmission”, the Qinghai -Tibet Railway, the Three Gorges Projects in China and the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and Tanana River Bridge in the United States. The group has entered long-term strategic cooperation with world-class enterprises such as ThyssenKrupp, Vesuvius and GE and is also the global supplier of many international well-known enterprises, such as Germany’s Volkswagen and BMW, GE Automobile of the US and South Korea’s STX.
